In 2025, EUIPO received 327,735 new applications for EU trademarks and EU designs – the highest number since the office began accepting applications in 1996.
This represents an increase of 7.8% compared to 2024, surpassing the previous record from 2021. The growth is driven particularly by a rise in trademark applications.
At Patrade, we’re pleased about two things:
- First, the numbers confirm that more companies are turning their interest in IP and IPR into concrete action. Businesses with registered rights stand stronger in the competition – and have documented higher revenue per employee.
- Second, we’re proud to continue being top filers at EUIPO – meaning the Danish IP law firm that has submitted the most applications on behalf of clients.
More about that another time. For now, you can read more here.
