PRESS RELEASE
Arnesen IP was founded by Susie P. Arnesen, attorney-at-law, who after the merger will continue with Patrade as a partner. She and her two employees will move to Patrade's offices in Ørestad.
Like Patrade, Arnesen IP specializes in advice on IP. The firm was established by Susie P. Arnesen in 2019, but Susie has worked with intellectual property since 1983. She is an authority especially on trademarks and design and is internationally recognized. Over the years, she has for instance continuously been highlighted by World Trademark Review 1000 as an expert in "Strategy and Prosecution" in relation to trademarks. In addition, Susie, as only the second Dane, has served as a board member in the world's leading trademark organization INTA.
"Arnesen IP is known for providing specialized advice at a high professional level and with a keen focus on the business aspects of IP, and thus fits in very well with Patrade," says Annette Bach, CEO, Patrade.
"We have generally aimed at growing organically, but in Copenhagen it made perfect sense to look into a supplement to organic growth, so we started a dialogue with Susie," says Annette Bach.
Patrade in Copenhagen currently has 8 IP specialists (both patent experts and lawyers). With the merger with Arnesen IP, there will be a total of 11 employees in the office, led by attorney-at-law and partner Simon Tønners.
"We have worked together with Arnesen IP in recent years, so we know Susie quite well and are very much looking forward to working with her and her employees on a daily basis," says Simon Tønners, who has regularly solved tasks for Arnesen IP over the past few years.
Timing has been perfect, as Susie P. Arnesen herself has also been interested in a closer collaboration with firms with similar expertise, but at the same time she did not want to enter into a collaboration with just anyone.
"For me, Patrade had the right profile and the office in Copenhagen the right size. I could also see an advantage for my clients because Patrade also has expertise in other areas such as online brand protection. The most important thing for me, however, has been to find a firm who shows the high professional level and efficient case management that my clients have come to expect, and where there is a match in terms of values and culture, also for the sake of my employees," says Susie P. Arnesen. She elaborates:
"Simon has assisted in solving several tasks for me, and he has much the same approach to how things should be done as I do. In addition, Patrade has a much wider basis when it comes to litigation".
