Björn has built longstanding experience in Danish, European and US patent law from working with patent agencies and in industry. His broad range of expertise spans from e.g. novelty searches, patentability assessments, drafting and prosecution of patent applications to freedom-to-operate analyses.
Before embarking on his career in IP, Björn worked as an innovator with the generation and maturing of ideas relating to analytical instruments for the food industry.
Björn holds an MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Vienna. He took his PhD and Postdoc at the Carlsberg Research Laboratory in Copenhagen, followed by positions first as an Assistant Professor and later as an Associate Professor in food microbiology at the Royal Veterinary University (now Copenhagen University, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences). He also holds a Diploma in Engineering Business Administration (EBA). Björn is fluent in German, Danish and English.
