Trainee patent attorney for Patrade Aarhus

Do you want to work with new technologies? And do you dream of becoming a European Patent Attorney? Then why not start with a 3-year course as a trainee in our patent department? We have an opening in our office in Aarhus, right now!

Get the opportunity to work with new technologies and inventions even before some of them are on the market. You will work together with innovative companies that focus on the development of new technologies.

At Patrade, our role is to find out how their inventions can be protected so that they achieve a head start on the market.

What can you expect as Trainee Patent Attorney?

In the patent department, we work closely with our legal department. This means that as a trainee with us, you have both European Patent Attorneys, lawyers and specialists in online brand protection as your closest colleagues and go-to experts. You are guaranteed to be able to put your knowledge into play and learn about all aspects of patenting. The customers are both small and medium sized companies, and large companies, and we work with different industries. You can explore customer cases here.

The trainee course lasts three years, during which you can expect:

  • Introduction and thorough training to advise on patents and patenting.
  • You get to work with customers early in the process, of course alongside an experienced colleague.
  • You will have the opportunity to train as a European Patent Attorney.

What does it take to become a patent trainee?

To become a trainee with us, the following requirements apply:

  • A science background such as a graduate or PhD in physics or an equivalent engineering degree.
  • It is an advantage if you have written your thesis or had student jobs in physics, software, high-power electronics, or climate and environmental technology.
  • You must be able to speak English, as we have many international clients and most patent work — e.g. applications and dialogue with authorities — is conducted in English.
  • Desire and ability to function in an extroverted role with customer contact.
  • Professionally curious and a strong communicator and mediator.

This is a full-time position in our department located in Ceresbyen in Aarhus. Here we are currently about 40 people divided between patent, legal, and shared service. Your manager will be European Patent Attorney Lasse Rosenfeld Lauridsen, who you are welcome to contact via the phone number +45 2148 3190 if you have any questions.

If you can imagine yourself in the position, please send your application and CV to: job@patrade.dk and write: Patent trainee Aarhus in the subject field. We process applications on an ongoing basis.
