National trade mark protection in Denmark

In Denmark using a trade mark will grant the owner statutory monopoly in the use of the trade mark. It is not necessary to register a trade mark, but the registration gives the owner a right that is easier to document in case of an infringement.

Nationals of any state can apply for a Danish trade mark with or without priority claim from a registration/application from any state party to the Paris Convention.

The trade mark is valid for 10 years. It can be renewed for 10 years indefinitely.

A basic fee covers 1-3 classes.

The examination procedure is similar to the procedure of the examination of other trade mark systems.
